Rogue Training - Freestyle Performance

Wouldn’t it be fantastic to walk into any training session with a completely open book and exercise as freely as you want? Unfortunately this is rarely the case.
As humans, we are creatures of habit, clinging to our comfort zones we are afraid to venture out in case we do it wrong or heaven forbid, look silly. We are however not completely to blame. If you step into most gyms these days they are full of machines all lined up encouraging us to move in strictly one direction, promoting no stimulation, thus resulting in little or no progression.

How did our training sessions become so boring? And where did this robotic train of thought come from?

During our lifetime we are taught that repetition is the only way to learn, riding your first bike, learning to walk, and driving a car would be difficult to master without repetition. With regard to training the rule of repetition is essential for learning an exercise or developing biomotor abilities. However, when it comes to programme design repeating the same programme or exercise format, time and time again will result in limited stimulation and force a plateau, or as it is present with many gym retention figures, the reason to stop exercising.
Our minds are complex, information hungry sponges and without constant stimulation we become bored.
Without a doubt this de- motivating one directional training pattern will have a detrimental effect on our training development. To avoid this senseless waste of time we need a programme that provides confidence, guidance, functional exercise, enjoyment and the ability to achieve our goals.

Freestyle Performance and Rogue training are systems that encourage exercise without the boundaries a fixed programme commands. Detailed below are dictionary descriptions of each training system to provide a clearer understanding.

The word freestyle is used to describe a sport or other activity
where the participant is free to choose a style at will.

Performance

There are so many different exercises and combinations available that in theory when we do train we may never need to do the same exercise twice in the same month.

In order for this to become reality you need an extensive exercise armoury.
Between our website and the sites on the link page you should be set for a good few sessions. An important tip to remember is to have a firm idea in mind of what you want to accomplish and apply that to your training sessions through as many different exercises as you can think of.

To the athletes and bodybuilders reading this you probably think this type of session cannot benefit your training and you are most likely put off. But by applying your specifics accordingly, your targets can still be achieved without sacrificing any of your hard work. Surely mixing up your workouts and forcing your muscles to work twice as hard will enable you to reach your maximum potential?

Although this way of training brings with it some scruffiness it’s nice to sometimes break the mould and just go for it!
After all there are no boundaries set, the only real hurdle is you.
Personally I have found the best results yield from un-predictable sessions based around multi-directional, core and compound movements (pushes, pulls etc.)

If you are new to exercise please be aware of your fitness levels and exercise accordingly.

Excel above the rest! Be all you can!
